Rap Star – Lorinser shows its recent E-Class creation

The new Mercedes E Class has been celebrated as one of the most classy, handsome and understated designs in years. As usual, it didn’t take long for tuners to change that. For those who want to look more like they belong in a rap video or the parking lot of an NFL training camp, tuner Lorinser has released photos of their latest E Class treatment for the W212 chassis. We will admit, we really like the more aggressive front bumper and the rear diffuser, but after that, we would leave it stock. Lorinser may be going for the DTM Racecar look with the vented front fenders, but it instead, screams boy racer. Now that every Civic, Integra and Scion is sporting this look, I think it’s time to let it go. Same goes for the 1990s throw-back boxed side skirts with the vent in back. I don’t car if it is functional, which I doubt, it looks ridiculous and dated.
While we are writhing in pain over the looks of this kit, we can’t bash Lorinser for quality. We may not go for cars that will shortly be garage jewelry on MTV Cribs, we do appreciate the workmanship and quality materials that Lorinser uses in all their parts. We have seen several of these kits installed and can attest to the fact that they are OEM quality and will certainly outlast the fleeting fame and fortune of most of their owners. Details are still scarce, but we imagine Lorinser will probably provide an ECU flash, exhaust components and suspension modifications shortly. The best thing about these parts is that they will be typical Lorinser high-quality pieces but for the most part, won’t be visible. The accompanying photos also show two of Lorinser’s wheel designs. The Cuisinart blade which they have been holding on to for the last ten years and a rather good looking modified five spoke design. Lorinser has several dealers here in the US, check their European website to try and find one near you: HERE
